Aluminium profile mat with a brush insert and two ramp profiles: installed directly on the floor, with no mat well and no construction work.
In an existing building, the mat well is usually the real obstacle: the screed is in place, the floor covering has been laid, and creating a recess would mean breaking open the floor. This version avoids that entirely – the mat is laid directly on the existing subfloor, and the two ramp profiles form ramp edges on both sides, bridging the height difference of 20 mm overall height. As a result, the transition remains comfortable and accessible for both foot traffic and wheeled traffic – including wheelchairs, shopping trolleys and wheeled suitcases. The cassette brush mechanically removes coarse dirt, mud, snow and leaves from footwear.
The version with ramp profiles on both sides is chosen when the mat is walked on or driven over from both sides – for example in a passageway or when it is laid freely in the room. If the mat is approached from one direction only, the version with a ramp profile on one side is sufficient; technically both are identical and differ only in the number of ramp profiles. As the mat is not installed into the floor, the system can also be used in rented premises and, if required, removed again without any intervention in the floor construction.
This profile height is designed for entrance areas with low foot traffic: up to 50 people per day, with a recommended area of 4–6 m² as a single zone row. Typical buildings are family homes as well as small offices and practices. The brush insert is approved for Zones 1, 2 and 3 and is used as the first cleaning zone both indoors and outdoors.
The version with ramp profiles is the right solution wherever there is no mat well or one cannot be created: in existing buildings, in rented premises and in renovations without intervention in the floor construction. Not suitable for forklift trucks or construction hoists.
The mat is laid directly on the existing subfloor without a mat well. Depending on the location and the condition of the subfloor, it is fixed with special installation adhesive or with expansion anchors – for secure fixing without slipping. The ramp profiles are fitted in the front-to-back direction of the mat, i.e. on the end faces of the first and the last support profile; in this version, on both sides. The profile height of the ramp profile is determined by the profile height of the mat (11 mm), not by the overall height. When fixing with expansion anchors or screws, check the route of any underfloor heating beforehand; use over underfloor heating is generally possible.
